Exceptional circumstances must relate to the choice of school, i.e. the circumstances of the child, not the economic or social circumstances of the parent and be supported by a professional report, e.g. social worker, justifying why it is better for the child to attend the preferred school rather than any other school.

School Rules at PMS

At Penkridge Middle School we have certain rules for good behaviour .

Before you read our rules, you should take special note of these very important statements.

bulletTeachers are here to teach and children to learn. Children who prevent this happening will have to come to school with their parents to discuss their behaviour with a senior member of staff. Persist in preventing learning and you could lose your place at PMS.
bulletEveryone in this school must be safe. Aggressive, threatening behaviour or bullying

will not be tolerated. Your parents will be contacted if you act in this way towards others.

bulletAlways arrive at school wearing official school uniform. H you do not, your parents will be contacted so that the problem can be resolved.

We expect all children to follow these rules at PMS.

bulletWork hard at all times and always ask if you do not understand.
bulletFollow the classroom rules.
bulletAlways be polite in discussions with staff and other children. Listen to other people's point of view.
bulletBe on time for school
bulletCome to lessons with the equipment you need, clearly labelled with your name.
bulletWear our school uniform and be clean, neat and tidy in appearance.
bulletTake care of your school, keep school free of fitter and remember that chewing gum is never allowed.
bulletNever tolerate a bully. Always tell your class teacher if you are worried about some- one's behaviour towards you or someone else.
bulletWalk calmly and sensibly around school, keeping to the left and not causing an obstruction.
bulletMobile phones are never allowed in school
bulletBe aware that the school drive can be a dangerous place. Walk on the footpaths, or walk your bike up the drive.

The school requests that donations be made as regards visits which serve to extend curriculum opportunities and the Governing Body endorses such a policy. A charge, currently £30 per term, is made for music lessons provided by peripatetic music tutors.
